Dead@17 moves to Image

February 7th, 2009

As a comic book fan, I have to give a congrats to Robert Kirkman about his quest to save comics. Bringing Josh Howard to Image is a great move. However, how does that affect my friends at Viper Comics? I believe that they will be fine but the absence of Josh is a blow to their brand in the current market.

As a comic book fan, are move creators going to Image and what will San Diego look like when Image Comics gets there?

My friend Grimm

January 18th, 2009

It's not every day that you have a friend who's an award winning writer and legendary underground rapper. On a "Typical" day, I find myself meeting other legendary superstars of hop –hop and superstars of other mediums as well.

The neat thing is that Grimm treats out encounters with other celebrities it like another day at the office and its business as unusual. I am always amazed of how grounded he is in these situations because most people wouldn't be.

I guess, that's just my friend, Grimm…Simply being himself.

More time at the studio.

Today, I'm in the studio and we're discussing projects. Chris Moreno is at his desk working on his Toy Story project for Boom Studios. It's cool that I can sit here and watch him work while I type.

Tone and Percy are debating a superhero project that Percy is working on. The discussion is talking about the myth of hero in comics and what elements the book needs to separate it from the other books on the market.

Myself, I'm trying to figure out what will be the next project I will write a Superhero, Supernatural, Historical Fiction, a Western or maybe Sci-Fi book.

I guess, I will discuss it over with the guys and get back to you.

Patrick McGoohan 1928-2009

The reason, I love imagination of one of my heroes. The Prisoner is one of the reasons that I wanted to be a writer. Patrick McGoohan captured my imagination when I was a kid and as the say the rest is history...You will be missed my friend.

Be seeing you.

Back in the Studio

An example Simpsons pageBack in the studio, keeping the engines running full bore. Chris is working on Toy Story pages for Boom Studios. Tone is back working on his Simpsons pages. I vote he get a cameo on the show, having a discussion in the comic book store. More of Tone's workFitting, right? He's also working on penciling a project called Mayhem. Can't tell you much about that one right now, but I can't wait to show you some pages, they're dynamite. Everyone else is plugging away, making the wheels turn, getting Arch Enemy ready to go for the New Year. I'm back on the phones tying all the lose ends together, greasing the wheels, and getting our deals and ducks in a row.
